How It Works in the Body

How It Works in the Body

The instruments in this sound bath emit vibrational frequencies that interact with your body at a cellular level. These vibrations move through your nervous system, helping shift emotional energy and bring your body into a more relaxed, harmonious state.

You don’t have to do anything except listen and allow. Let the sounds meet you where you are and support your body’s natural process of releasing, restoring, and rebalancing.

How to Listen

Here’s how to make the most of your experience, though there’s no “right” way to do it.

  • Set the space. Dim the lights, grab a cozy blanket, and relax.

  • Get comfortable. Lay down, sit in a chair, or find any position where your body can fully relax.

  • Use headphones or earbuds if possible (but not required). They may help you feel more immersed in the sound.

  • Play. Press play and let the sound carry you.

  • Let go. Close your eyes and take slow, gentle breaths. You don’t need to do or think about anything. Let the sound do the work.

  • Release emotion. If tears come or you feel sensations move through you, that’s okay. It’s part of the healing.

  • Repeat often. This isn’t a one-time experience. Come back to it anytime you need comfort or care.

This is your space. Let it meet you exactly where you are. Let your experience unfold without judgment or expectation.

After Listening

You may feel lighter, calmer, or more centered. It might feel like something inside you has shifted or softened. Many people describe a sense of peace, emotional release, or quiet clarity. Others simply notice they feel more at ease in their body, as if the weight they were carrying has gently lessened.

Even if the effects feel subtle at first, the sound bath is still working. The frequencies are calming your nervous system, helping your energy flow more freely, and giving your mind a chance to reset. It’s like your whole being has been given permission to exhale.

This is what healing can feel like — safe, gentle, and deeply nourishing.

Give yourself time to integrate. Drink some water, notice how your body feels, and allow yourself to soak in the benefits. You just gave yourself something beautiful, a moment of true care.

About the Sound Bath & Instruments

This recording was created exclusively for this space, with the intention to support those moving through grief. It is not available anywhere else.

It was created and recorded by Gonzalo Basavilbaso, musician, sound therapist, and instrument builder, who lives and works in the Sacred Valley of the Inkas, Cusco, Peru.

Intention Behind the Recording

This recording was done in meditation and connection to the intention to support people who are grieving.

When Annette asked me to do this, it simply felt like the perfect synchrony as I myself was grieving the recent loss of my father and giving support to my mother and brothers.

The recording process became one of profound transformation.
It was done mainly in first takes to keep the spontaneous feeling that you get from in live sessions.

The order of instruments wasn’t planned but actually felt at the moment of recording.”

— Gonzalo Basavilbaso

Instruments You’ll Hear

  • Antara Nazca (clay pan flute)
  • Quartz and metal singing bowls
  • Wind chimes
  • Water seeds, Udu (African clay drum), Native American flute
  • Ocean drum
  • Gong (38″ Sun Gong – a powerful portal instrument)
  • Ocarina (clay whistle – bird sounds), Chacapa (Amazonian leaf shaker)
  • Ngoni (African harp)
  • Shrutti box (Hindu drone instrument)
  • Overtone singing
  • Rav drum (steel tongue drum)
  • Handpan (D Paradiso scale)
  • Crystal singing bowls

Each instrument was chosen and played to support emotional release, nervous system regulation, and energetic rebalancing.

Note about the Gong:

“The gong is the portal, taking us to the depths from where we have the opportunity to rebirth and to lift higher than ever before. If you find it challenging the first time, don’t worry, take it easy, this instrument is not here to be nice or soft. It’s pure power, pure medicine, allowing us to burn and let go of anything that no longer serves us. It’s a powerful tool of transformation. Let it move through you and allow what no longer serves you to fall away. With time, most people come to love this deep, powerful vibration.”

About the Musician, Gonzalo Basavilbaso

Sound therapist, musician, and harmonic instrument builder

Gonzalo Basavilbaso is a sound therapist, musician, instrument maker, and harmonic sound researcher. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and now living in the Sacred Valley of the Inkas in Cusco, Peru, Gonzalo has spent over a decade exploring sound as a tool for emotional healing, nervous system support, and consciousness expansion.

Over the last 12 years, he has studied how sound can be used for self-discovery, emotional release, and inner transformation — combining scientific, ancestral, and intuitive approaches. He crafts immersive sound journeys that help restore balance in the body and mind, often guiding listeners into deep meditative states.

Gonzalo also builds many of the instruments he plays, including gongs, harmonic drums, wind chimes, didgeridoos, clay flutes, and custom percussion instruments.

In his private workshop, he experiments with cymatics and other sound research to better understand how vibration influences us on every level — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

This particular sound journey was recorded during a very personal time of grief, following the loss of his own father. When invited to create this sound bath for those grieving, he felt a deep inner “yes.” The session became part of his own healing process and was recorded intuitively in a single meditative take, allowing the sounds to flow spontaneously.

Every note carries his heartfelt intention to support others through their grief, offering a space for release, connection, and comfort.
